Varsity and JV Haverford Tournament Information

Every year, Council Rock North attends a full day MANDATORY tournament for both Varsity and JV teams. Every year the tournament can vary. This year we will be attending the Ted Keyser Haverford Tournament which is held at the Haverford High School. Below, you will find all necessary information in preparation for this tournament.

NOTE: Depending on the date, the typical tournament date falls a day before Junior Prom and the players are expected to plan accordingly for this mandatory tournament.

  • JV Tournament is held on March 29th, 2025 (Saturday)
  • Varsity Tournament is held on April 5th, 2025 (Saturday) - Bus Leaves 6:15am

 

General Information

TIME:    Doors open at 7:30 AM (Bus Leaves at 6:15am)

***NO COACHES MEETING***

  • 8:00 AM Warm- up
  • Bring your own warm up balls
  • 8:30 AM- first games start 
  • Teams camping in the cafeteria. Please notify your players that no ball play in the cafeteria or the hallway areas is allowed!
  • Our trainer is available as needed.
  • Buses have to be parked at the Middle School (Front of the building) after dropping off.
  • Snack Shack opens at 8 am - Breakfast, lunch and snacks available. Please let your players ad parents know about some of the items on our menu:

Rules

No coin toss in pool play, (#*) indicates the serving team in the 1st set! 

  • Working teams must supply two score keepers, one libero tracker and two-line Judge
  • Warm-ups will be 5/5 through Round 3 and 3/3 for all rounds after
  • Pool play two (2) 25-point games beginning at 0, 27 Point Cap for all pool play
  • Top 2 teams from each pool based on the overall record advance to playoffs
  • If there is a tie for first place at the end of pool play, seeding will be based on head-to-head competition and then head to head point differential then overall point differential, then then it’s a coin toss.
  • Tie-breaker for second is a (1) 15-point game starting at 0, 17-point cap.
  • Three-way tie- breaker: for 1st place will be head to head competition, then based on overall points, 2nd place will play (1) 15-point game starting at 0, 17-point cap
  • All playoff matches are one (1) 25 -point game beginning at 0, No Cap
  • 1st and 2nd overall seed get a bye
  • Quarterfinals are 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5
  • Semifinals: first seed will play winner of 4 vs 5; second seed will play winner of 3 vs 6. Winners play championship!
