LINCS Volunteer Program Changes-Important Info for Application

LINCS Volunteer Program

Effective February 1, 2016

Recent and extensive changes to Act 15 of 2015 have amended provisions of the Child Protective Services Law and those changes directly impact volunteers, who are responsible for the a student’s welfare or who have “direct volunteer contact” with students.  You must read the following statements from NHS and the LINCS office to understand the impact of this law.

NHS Statement To Potential National Honors Society Candidates:

If you anticipate receiving an invitation from the organization this spring, the following information is critical and time sensitive.  As of January 31, 2016, service credits and LINCs hours can only be acquired through organizations that have completed the three required background checks now required by the state of Pennsylvania.  The Council Rock School District will be posting on its website an approved list of organizations. Only those organizations who have submitted their clearances to the district are approved as potential sources of service.  If you began volunteering with an organization earlier this year and anticipated  continuing that relationship, you must make sure that the organization has submitted its clearances or any hours accrued after January 31, 2016, will not be accepted.

If you have additional concerns, please contact one of the following individuals:
