CRAFTERS FOR LIFEskills

Crafters For Lifeskills is a program that was created by Joanne Curry, the Speech Language Pathologist at CRHS-North in 2014 to provide and support students of the low incidence population.  This club provides life-long skills or a hobby that can transition beyond the high school setting and give our students an opportunity to be meaningful contributors within the community.  CR students at North and students at the transition program, A.C.H.I.E.V.E., create various crafts while working towards functional goals with the support of the speech-language pathologist, classroom teachers, and assistants.  Items made include relaxing eye pillows, sugar scrubs, key chains, drink tumblers, greeting cards, and more.  The proceeds from sales allow this to be self-sustaining, provide learning materials for the classrooms, donations to CR supported charities, and benefit future CR students beyond the educational setting.

Our students work hard all year round making various crafts, selling items at Fall Festivals, various Holiday Shops at the elementary schools, and supporting the joy of gift-giving around the holidays!  Feel free to check out our order form and/or reach out to Joanne Curry at jcurry@crsd.org with any questions or order requests!
